Samsung Galaxy S4 will perform poorly with Android 6.0 Marshmallow

Whenever there is a new update for Android operating system, each Android’s user and fans expect one or two new features, improvements, and functionality as well. Such improvements usually comes with greater demand features and bigger file sizes in which as a result make the older devices get weaker and lose its ability to accommodate these changes. This is what is considered by the company. They want to make sure that the new update will make the device’s performance better and not the opposite. With the release of Android 5.0 Lollipop in 2014, it became impossible for the new operating system to be updated into this 2013’s flagship. In spite of receiving Android Lollipop, the Samsung Galaxy S4’s performance could not get better and the addition of another update will be more dangerous for this great device.  In fact, some users complained the S4 operation became slower since they upgraded it to 2014’s Android OS.

Alternative

After Samsung’s official statement that Galaxy S4 will not get the new Android Marshmallow update, the Internet space is currently pre-loaded with Android 6.0 Custom ROM via the XDA Developers forum.  However, you should know and beware that this firmware is a trial version, very unstable and there may be some bugs. If you are into custom Rom, it might be fun to try. But casual users should steer clear. It is already clear that Android 5.0 Lollipop updates make Galaxy S4’s performance slower than when using the Android KitKat. Therefore, updating it to the current Marshmallow Android 6.0 is not needed if it only makes the Samsung Galaxy S4 performance, usability and functionality get worse.
